I have started a second blog, yes I know that I very rarely write here, but this other blog is in Danish.
I made it for two reasons, that I would like somewhere to write in Danish, and because I thought of a great name.
The Danish word for utopia is “utopi”, which is pronounced the same way as “u2π”, and I thought I would do it before anyone else :).

So without further ado, the link: http://utopi.twaize.net/

Today and yesterday, I was out for the AIDS foundation collecting money; I was standing in something called Bruun’s Bazaar”, asking everyone who passed (well… mostly), if they wanted to donate to the struggle against AIDS, and to as many as I could, I gave out condoms.
When you’re standing around for that long, you try to amuse yourself. The bin used to collect money, is in Danish called “bøsse”, which happens to be the same as the word for a homosexual… Hilarity ensues… Well not really, it would be poor taste. But “support the fight against AIDS(give me money), and I will support yours (hand out a condom)”, I don’t think that’s bad taste, in worst case, it’s just stupid.
Time doesn’t go slow, I did 3 hours both days, it doesn’t go fast anyway, and by the time I was done, I was damn tired, walking around bugging people for money, it’s a very unforgiving job. Yes some people stop, chitchat etc., but only one in 10 or one in 15 stop and donate, some even shout abuse (I’ve heard “gay bastard” more than once, despite being heterosexual). But there are groups for all people, and these people can be grouped into the following:

Complete ignore, as if I don’t exist

Look and ignore

Look and laugh

Look and and then look in a completely different direction, this isn’t your teachers attention you’re avoiding

Pick up your cellphone until you’re past me and put it down

Lie to make yourself feel better by saying “not RIGHT now” or “not today”

Shout abuse

Claim you’ve already given someone else

Excuse that you haven’t got any small change (we accept all types and size of money)

Excuse that you’ve only got your credit card (just leave it with me)

So why do I it? I don’t get paid, I get shouted at (very rarely though), I get ignored and I haven’t got AIDS. I also don’t feel greatly with Western people who have it, yes I apologise for people who were raped, nurses who had an accident with a used needle, doctors performing operations etc.
It’s a disease you get, when you do what you’re supposed to do, when you have unprotected sex, when you think a morning after pill, is a good type of prevention. I understand that’s it’s important to develop medicine for it. If that’s achieved, the high mortality rate in Africa might be stopped, and we can work on stabilising that part of the world, and in the end… Economic prosperity, I mean that continent is so far down and out, what can one do but look on in despair?

I did it purely for my own gain, it makes me feel better, I like having done something for other people, and that’s not the way it’s meant to be, it’s supposed to be a selfless act, but I’m afraid it isn’t.

Instead, listen to this song:

[See post to listen to audio]

I love Denmark, it’s my country, but I hate Danes. Our royal family, what a royal pain. I mentioned Billed-Bladet before, the royal magazine of the week, they leech off everything remotely related to the royal family, if someone spent a weekend with one of the princes, they will come back 2 years later for a follow-up interview, it’s a thick magazine, filled with devotion to chain smoking, stuffed up people, who for the most part, don’t even know how to formulate their thoughts, and end up sounding like monkeys on speed, incapable of speaking coherently. I understand the value, they only cost 72.000.000 DKK every year, not a lot, when it is considered how much they bring in, through tourism. But they make the worst role models (they all smoke a lot), they speak French in private (the Queen’s husband is French, and his Danish is terrible), our two main princes (the crown prince and his brother), pretty much care for themselves and none else, the crown prince and his wife Mary, is turning into something along the lines of Charles and Diana, not that extreme but… My real problem is how much people care for them, here in Denmark we have two big free channels (DR1 and TV2), when the crown prince got married, both stations did a 6 hour coverage, and I expect more of that in the future; Prince Joachim (Frederik’s brother) just impregnated his wife (when I wrote this), and the media won’t let it rest. Of course I just choose not to care, but how much people care, always scares me. I now have a job as IT support at my school, and this secretary I came to help, had a picture for the royal family, right next to pictures of her children.

Does this look like the ideal family to you? Well it might, but it sure doesn’t to me. The queen tries hard, but her paintings are terrible, her dresses are horrible, her hats are a common joke, her handicraft (no matter what or which material) is horrible as well, she just doesn’t realise it, as none would speak against the queen, who would want to offend royalty?

But that’s the problem, they are just regular people, fucked up by a system that still reveres them; the royal family used to have privileges, but since the 5th of June 1849, all of that has disappeared (or slowly waned away); and they just can’t handle it, a lot of celebrities struggle with it, but that didn’t start until they got famous, and they can hide away; a member of the royal family is in the spotlight from birth, and there is no hiding.

These people aren’t descendants from god, chosen by god or anything like that, they aren’t better people, they are all the same fallible creatures as the rest of us, and I for one wouldn’t want that; I would like my normal life, so I’m not envious, but that doesn’t mean that they should waste their birthright, the Queens father and grandfather were immensely popular.
Her grandfather would ride unprotected through the streets of Copenhagen his entire life, even during the German occupation, and became a symbol of the Danish resistance to the occupation. He was also the last king to contain and air of superiority that belonged to the family.
Her father, the sailor king, chose the navy instead of the army, and achieved great popularity as a king of the people, amongst other things, due to his naval career and lifestyle (he rose to the rank of rear admiral), he was tattooed, something that brought it more into mainstream.
Although not a result of his rule, Denmark saw the biggest boom in the economy ever during his reign (in the 60′s), Denmark became a welfare state, something was done about equality of the sexes; summed up, during his time as king, Denmark opened up to change and became the country it is today, a modern welfare nation.

So what can be expected of our heir apparant?
I don’t know, he tries to appear normal, attending rock concerts and travelling to the Olympics, and he certainly speaks like a commoner (not very nice). On the other hand, his campaign to be accepted into the IOC, is nothing short of embarrassing. This incredibly corrupt and elitist place of gathering, shouldn’t be anything of interest to a “contemporary” king; he would never ride through the streets, but what tagging along with his wife? She always seems to know what she is doing, going to Africa to raise awareness for landmines, being the protector of a many organisations etc., and he doesn’t do much, apart from the Olympics he is rarely in the common media, so what?

Biographies have been written of course, and I greatly expect him to step forward once he is king, but when will that be? He is 40 years old, and his 68 year old mother is showing no sign of slowing down, unless she is killed by lung cancer (she smokes like a 19th century factory), she could last for a while, as her mother died at the age of 90. If she snuffs it in 10 or 20 years, he will be accordingly 50 or 60, not only a high age to take the throne, but he will be old(ish); will he really be able to leave his mark?

Only time will tell, and now this rant is long enough…

Is there anything more Danish, than those 4 expressions? They are tongue twisters, designed to make foreigners turn into question marks, trying to comprehend, why any language would develop such sounds.

But that’s not what I’m here for, I have a rant. I have a rant about Danes, being Danish and the values connected to that. I am so sick and tired, of Danish people thinking they are better than other people, of how the Danish social system is superior, how our politics are free and that we are the freest people in the world.

Danish people are rude and remote, a Danish person will only hold the door for me in 1 out of 25 times, today I nearly had a door slammed in my face twice; Danes accept racism if it’s put up as a joke, or told by a proxy; Danes won’t talk about their emotions (not easily anyway), they complain about their low self esteem, and then refuse to talk about it; not drinking is considered very rude (alcohol that is), a problem I often encounter; Danes are very difficult to approach, you try picking up a conversation with a random person, even within the same environment (like my school), they will try to turn off, hardly reply; it’s very important to be introduced into a circle, which makes the first few weeks in a new city (I moved to Århus to study), rather difficult, since most people don’t know anyone, so the barriers shields and walls are down for a short time, and then back up.

I love Denmark, it’s my country, but I hate Danes.
Denmark is supposedly the happiest place in the world, well there’s a reason… Danes love to bitch, whine and complain, we are happy, because we live in a nation with unprecedented whining, bitching and complaining. It’s such a snug little country, the famous social net, getting paid to study, stable politics, solid economy, instead of unemployment we have a shortage of workers, so the unemployment rate is as low as it can be within a western society, the only problem is that welfare and unemployment money, is the highest in the world, meaning a certain part of the population, has almost nothing to gain by getting a job. So what do we complain about? EVERYTHING! We will complain about the smallest insignificant things; the escalating crime (it isn’t escalating, attention is simply being brought to it), the differences in the political parties (there aren’t any, at least not in the major parties), how people want more for free from the government, but pay less in tax (mathematically impossible), our involvement in Afghanistan (NATO and UN sanctioned mission); our third vote for the Euro, I know they are politicians, and I do support it, but the people have spoken… Twice! They are always trying to seize the right moment for the vote, but the right way to do it isn’t to keep trying until you get it, but accept the voice of the people, it isn’t a democracy, it’s a dictatorship for spoiled brats, if they don’t get what they want, the stamp the ground, and kick up dust until they get it!

I love Denmark, it’s my country, but I hate Danes.
What’s the biggest attraction is “Vild med Dans” (a Danish version of Strictly Come Dancing), and I feel very sorry for the sad people, who have nothing better to do, with their vapid pointless lifes, than watch that show; I’m pretty sure those people also have a subscription to Ekstra Bladet (junk newspaper (aka. tabloid newspaper)), Se & Hør, Billed-Bladet and eat about as healthily as Howard Taft. Most people watch TV, and I even do occasionally (the news, takfor i aften (a Danish 30 minute comedy show) and sometimes the simpsons), but there’s a line to be drawn somewhere, it isn’t just “Vild med Dans”; it’s the amount of crap being broadcast, like “Unge Mødre” (young mothers, a show about teenagers having children), X-Factor and the amount of reality shows that’s being forced upon us, and should a Dane turn to a real scripted show, they get 2900 Happiness, a TV show with the worst acting in history, and most TV is the same; but at least we are free from the curse of makeover shows, in previous times, it was impossible to turn on the TV, without encountering a makeover show.

So what alternative do I suggest? I don’t know, it must be up to people to control their own lifes, which is why they can watch 2 hours and 40 minutes of TV per day… I know, I’m a student, and I don’t even have time to watch that much, but I would never want to; if it wasn’t for the amount of study books I have to read, I would read in my spare time, instead I have begun learning to play guitar; once I get my camera back, I will go around Århus and look for good pictures, and I have started doing fitness twice a week, and plan to run twice a week as well.
So what am I judging Danes for?

Am I better than them? Certainly not, I have many flaws, some big and some small, other people have other flaws. That however, does not excuse them from my point of view, I just acknowledge that I’m not better or worse, we are all people, we are all the same, and we have the same inherent flaws. So what do I want Danes to do? Get off their fat arse (we are getting fatter and fatter) and do something, move about, entertain themselves, do something as a family or with friends. The youth is known for their apathy worldwide, but in Denmark, very few people actually give a damn. It’s despair mostly, we feel like Denmark has been lost, and there isn’t much we can do about it; and we blame everyone we can; the immigrants and refugees get by far the most flak, and looking at statistics it isn’t “unfair” to do so, the problem is that the vast majority are thoroughly nice people, it’s a minority that makes it a problem for everyone, however their criminal minority is bigger in percentage, than the one from the genetically Danish population; but if I came from a war-torn country, or any country culturally vastly different, I’d not only get scared, I would try and fight it, stick with my own kind, same as would happen, if a lot of Danish people got stuck in Afghanistan, or as the British did throughout the world, during their age of global conquest. Crime may never be excused, but that’s exactly the problem, the criminal immigrants and refugees make up a miniority, the same thing could be said about the Danes, the crimerate among us is a minority, but a lot of hatred fuels political parties like Dansk Folkeparti, the third biggest party in Denmark, is a racist party.

I love Denmark, it’s my country, but I hate Danes.
Why do we Danes feel that our society is superior? We are always bragging about our “social net”, yes it’s very nice; but we forget about each other. We feel that through our taxes, we take care of each other, and beyond that, we don’t need to think about each other; and it’s true to a certain degree, taxes are absurd in Denmark, and everyone is well taken care off, there is no need to worry about a health insurance, unemployment or getting old. But as I mentioned before, Danes are rude and distant; the quote “light up, forget you’re Scandinavian” comes to mind. We need to start caring again, we need to look to other people, and we need to begin Christmas in early November (although that’s a global problem).
As I said about politics, it’s all about bickering over nothing, and looking at each other with hostility, snappy retorts and thinking that we always have precedence; we need to start agreeing.
We have this feeling that we are superior, but we keep failing the statistics, Finland uses 70% of the funds (per student) we do on education, but they are far ahead of us; our health system is very costly, but in other countries they spend far less, for a longer life, and higher physical quality of life (Japan especially, but even in Spain they live longer); in fact we come in 32nd, wordwide, with countries such as Bosnia and Herzegovina, Jordan, South Korea (which has a minimal government health system), Israel, Malta etc.
If we want to to feel superior, we should be superior, and not nr. 14 on the Human Development Index, as well as nr. 14 on the Worldwide Press Freedom index.

I love Denmark, it’s my country, but I hate Danes.
I’m glad to have been born and raised in Denmark, it just doesn’t hold enough for me. I want to go above and beyond, but that doesn’t mean, that Danes shouldn’t be able to behave nicely. Every time I come home to Denmark (either from travelling, or from when I was living in Spain), I’m always appalled by the behaviour of my fellow Danes, but at no time was it worse, than when I worked in Fakta. Yes it’s a minimum wage job, but it’s also a minimum appreciation job, although people didn’t shout quite as much at me, as they did when I worked in a 7-Eleven.
Since working those jobs, I always say “thank you” and “have a nice day” when I’m done, even in a supermarket (leaves most people staring), because I know what it means to people, when people said it to me, I felt a lot better.

Please…

Oh horror, earlier this week I had my beautiful long hair cut off :(. It is so short now that I can’t see it or anything. But despite how much I loved my hair, it wasn’t torture or even forced upon me; it was my own decision. I am going to South America soon, and I had no interest in the trouble of keeping my hear tidy and all, so I figured that after 6 or 7 months down there, my hair could turn positively nasty. So for the good cause, I let my hair get the chop. Unfortunately I utterly detest my new hair cur, it is for a lack of better words…. Ghastly.

I am writing this the day after the sunrise day to better reflect on what happened and what it means to me. I have been a scout for 12 years, and we were told that this would be the peak of our lives, whether it be private or scouting… NOT! However it was special to be present and I also managed to meet all of Baden Powell’s grandchildren, and help people get across the bridge (which I helped build) and wave/dance/sing/jump them down to the Replica Camp site where they all got on TV as well as general media coverage. Peter Duncan got the scout promise wrong on live national TV (embarassing), but the scouts were very excited about the ceremony and that is all that really mattered, I will also be putting up pictures from this later on.

I do believe that this was very special, but it was sort of killed off by the media, because UK scouts feel that they need more media coverage… Scouting as at its biggest ever and it is still growing.

Because there are hardly any scouts on the island at the moment, we have been able to split them up so that half of the subcamp staff has the morning off and the other half has the evening off, same deal tomorrow except the other way round. So today I have the morning off, and tomorrow I have the evening off. Since I have all this newfound time and the computer cafe is almost empty, I felt that I would write something to round off my Florida vacation.

I do appreciate that my father took time out from my stepmother to take my sister and me travelling, but the whole thing almost went bollocks before it even began because of my stepmother. The original idea was that we were to go to Cuba, but my stepmother said no because the entire family had to go at some point (where I won’t be going of course), and so we came up with New York instead, but my stepmother veto’ed that as well for the same reason. Seeking further it was decided upon Florida, a place I compare with the tourist part of Greece, a horribly overtouristed place that I will never like, and damn, I was right. So I declared myself out of the vacation, something that angered my father (surprise) and caused him to say that the vacation was then entirely off; which in turn upset my sister. So in order to be the grown up and diplomatic person I agreed to go to Florida so that all (except me) would be happy; and as it turned out it would be quite a poor vacation.

Now looking back on the vacation in hindsight, it tops up there as the second worst vacation I have ever been on. Number 1 being a week long golf vacation in Germany with my father and his new family (I don’t play golf, and have no intention to) so I just did nothing and number 3 being a week on Barbados in a vacation resort doing nothing, but at least there was internet unlike in Germany, and I went diving once which was really cool.

But the whole episode with corporal punishment really set off an otherwise boring vacation to become something never to be forgotten; I have no idea really what to write, other then I won’t forgive my father for it, and I will never ever forget about it.

Recap:
Days 1-3

As in introduction, I am subcampstaff on Brownsea Island the birthplace for scouting, and this year we are celebrating the centenary of scouting, and I am actually very honoured of being here on the day, the very second that scouting is celebrated in its fullest ever. The subcamp staff will be roughly 50% british and 50% international. In my subcamp there are 4 british and 3 internationals, whom are Finnish, Guatamalan and Danish (me… duh). The camp will run (for me) from the 24th of july to the 8th of august, however I am leaving the camp on the 7th of august and then staying on the main jamboree camp in Essex at Hylands Park for the closing ceremony. The entire island is vegetarian while the camp goes on as we have to respect all faiths, beliefs and religions on this camp, of course they could just serve halal slaughtered horse or fish, as nobody technically opposes any of that except for true vegetations, but eggs, chese, milk and other diary products are served, so it isn’t an attempt to be vegan, but just to make it easy to respect all faiths, beliefs and religions. In the wolves subcamp in which I am in there are 7 members of staff, the subcamp leaders Karen and George; and the rest of us, Panu, Bernardo, Graham, Andrew and Jens (me).

Day 1 (24th of July):

I had to get up at a starkingly mad 6 in the morning to catch my flight to England, check-in began at 8.20 and I was of course in queue at 8.00. When I finally did get it, I bought an M magazine and a small Marabou bar. Eventually after a lot of waiting, my plane was delayed 40 minutes :(

As I finally made my way into the plane I was seated next to nice quiet people. The flight was problemfree and the luggage arrived quickly. But I must say that I blinked once or twice when I was told that the price for the train-ticket to Liverpool Street St. from Stansted Airport, and I was soon to learn that trains in England are FAR from cheap. I mean the 4 pound ticket from Liverpool to Waterloo was acceptable, but the 35 pounds from Waterloo to Poole was maddening. 35 pounds? Whatever.

Anyway I made it to Poole trainstation 2 minutes (if that) before the bus that was to pick me up… Picked me up. In the bus I met the top media handler Neil Commons, and we talked all the way to Poole Harbour. At Poole Harbour I had fish & chips (in the pub Lord Nelson none the less), where it didn’t looked like the fish had been battered to death, but instead just dipped into the frying machine alive, with the saggiest potato’s available. Once across I discovered that all the work of the day had been done, and I was in for a nice evening with rubbish dinner (but I had already eaten, remember?). And as far as the tent goes, I was assigned to tendmate called Andrew who is a really nice guy, and very quiet as far as sleeping goes, which is REALLY good (no snoring etc.).

Day 2 (25th of July):

Breakfast was egg and hash brownies which is really good, followed by the raising of 2 very big tents. The rest was more or less just a long relaxation day where we didn’t do much. Most of what happened was just meeting different people, and shortly setting up portaloos. It did rain quite heavily for some time but that was it. But what we really did was listen to some orientation and a tour of the island (of course in the period of time when it was raining), so that we wouldn’t get too lost while we were showing the scouts around for the 3 upcoming camps. Dinner was lasagne risotto which tasted horribly and I ate some chocolate instead (oh Jens, you healthy thing). The rest of the day went on without anything spectacular or worthy of mentioning.

Day 3 (26th of July):

On this day the participants arrive, so there was a lot of action going on, with people preparing and some going to mainland to recieve them. For breakfast there was egg and pourage, which was great… I LOVE POURAGE; and yes I know that makes me mentally insane, but how does that make news? Anyway when they arrived one of them immediatly started crying (Ryan Michel), because he didn’t know anyone and wanted to go home. So I decided to take care of him, making sure he stopped crying before trying to make him laugh (which I was very succesful at), and later found out what he needed, if he was to stay, and it just so happened that he had a friend in Bulls and would stay if he was transfered from Wolves to Bulls, and so he was. The rest of the day was just answering questions to which I didn’t know the answer (“When will we get our neckers” etc.) and getting to know the participants which all happened to be from England (how boring does it get?). For dinner we actually had some nice pasta with tomato sauce and a baked potato. After dinner we all prepared for a party which turned out to be a lot of fun. There was live music from a really good band fronted by Laura Bettinson which started out with a lot of popular cover songs and then some of their own material which was truly superb. To get the crowd (the participants) going, some of us in the crowd went up in front of the scene, turned towards them, and started dancing synchronised to the music to get them to follow and do the same, and damn that was fun, and for the dancing we were all lead by the hispanics (2 from guatamala, and 2 from Mexico).

I danced all the way to the midway break (some left before, some didn’t) but then I was hit by a really hard depression wave that I won’t be getting into detail about right now. However I went up to the Brownsea memorial rock where I had my first kiss (with Frida), brought me sleeping mattress with me and lay down to think for about 30 minutes. When I was done I went back to the place of the concert and had a look around where nothing had changed except it looked like Adam (a really nice guy) and Jane (pretty girl) were getting something going on. But I was still very sad and went back to my tent to get some good sleep.

Day 4 (27th of July):

This morning (I am writing this on the 27th of july) I woke up at 6.00, as we have to be up at 6.15 so we can be ready to wake up the participants when the wakeup music begins playing at 6.30. We went up to the breakfast and I had egg with hash brownies. When we were done eating we had a lot of time to kill before I had to take participants out to the activities. We started out by doing Conflict Resolution but not before one of my subcamp leaders had lost a participant and I had to take her participants to their activity while she found her own, so Graham (I wasn’t alone with my 10 participants, as once during the entire camp, we are two to a group of participants, and for me that was the first day) took the participants to the tent with conflict resolution. During the first half of the day, we had three 1 hour activities, and by the time I made it there, it was already halfway done, and it was to late to join in. However afterwards we went to circus skills where we learned to juggle, using one wheeled bicycles, and those who didn’t know how to, learned how to play the devil game (two sticks connected by a string, spinning a timeglass shaped ball/object thing). Where I had a lot of fun trying to juggle with 3 balls together with another member of staff called Squeeze (real name, Andrew). Afterwards came the real fun though, when we were supposed to find the pottery, it had been moved and nobody had told us where. So we walked a very long way back to the main tent trying to find it, just to find out that it had been moved to the main tent (bummer). Anyway lunch was decent because for the first time I had a cheese sandwich instead of an egg/mayonaise sandwich, which meant I could take the content out (the cheese) and just eat the bread which isn’t possible with the egg/mayonaise sandwich, for reasons that I am not going to explain. Later that same day we went on island adventure, however they only needed one staff to go along, so Graham would go have a shower, and for the second half of the activity which was cutting down rodondendron (most like not spelled correctly) Graham would take over and I would go have a shower. However I discovered that the showers had just been closed when I got there, so I didn’t get my shower which I really wanted before I went to the big jamboree in Hylands Park near Chelmsford in Essex. The rest of the day went nice and easy, with lots of time spent writing on this blog (quite a big post, right?). But I’m here in a second sitting as I was torn away from the computer while writing and chatting as my subcamp leader (I’m just subcamp staff) needed me to herd participants down to our subcamp. So having brought them back and herded (most appropriate term) them back into the tent for a centenary scouting celebration and concert (live artists), and I’m back here. I am not interested is joining them as I’m still riding on my depression wave, feeling really sad, but maybe I will write a post about that when I get back (I will start a post and save the draft in order to remind myself) and I imagine the rest of the day will be me going back to my tent and… sleeping.

Hey all of you

Yesterday around 13 o’ clock I graduated from Aloha College, which means I am done here in Spain, and will now move away.

The present from my mother and stepfather was a 3 week touring vacation in Australia with them and my sister (she also got it as her graduation present, despite her not graduating for another year). However, I knew that it was coming. The big surprise of the event was my wonderful stepfather who gave me a gold dog tag. As a standard dog tag, it had my name, my birthday, my gender and my blood type; he knows that I am crazy with travelling (so is he), so he felt that a dog tag with that kind of information was important for me. The special part was the fact that it was gold. Now you may think, “what a waste”. But it is made from 18 karat red gold as thus is extremely tradeable, especially in the middle east, Africa and east Asia; and that is exactly where such things may make a difference. Trading it for food, water or petrol is plausible if I ever end up in a bad situation (it is only a question of time).

Over and out!

I wrote all this a long time ago, im not even sure what is in it, but here goes:

“Jens felt it was about time for some declarations and beliefs.

“I believe that mankind at the base of it all is evil; and the fact that every last person is selfish, is more or less a given fact these days. However not all people act and behave as though they are evil people; I mean we can be kind towards each other, but I thoroughly believe that we are all bad people somewhere. If you strip any person down to the skin (metaphorically) they will not be good people, even the Dalai Lama is probably not good, and the pope sure isn’t.

But what is conflicting is that I know of people that have been kind toward me, and one of such (Jacob) is a really good friend of mine, and I consider him to be a thoroughly (nice word, eh?) good person; he is always funny in the cheerful way, and has no negative traits that I know, I have not a single negative thing to say about Jacob; so how can my theory be true?

Well there is a concept in Asian philosophy called eternal sin, and it states that a person is inherently bad; no matter how much good a person does, their human nature will render them evil or bad inevitably, although as depressing as it may sound, it is also the basis for human civilization. If we were all stark raving mad Marxists, who are all good to each other, and never commit a selfish act… Well check out how life was in the USSR and other communist countries, that is what human nature does, even if we all try to be equal, we are all too greedy.

So how can I claim that even people, who act well their entire life, can be a bad or evil person? Even though I feel like I am going in circle just to prove myself; the answer is not that they are bound to do something bad at a point, it is about their human nature.

Besides Jacob there are two other people who have been inherently good to me, one of those two is Ingrid, and there is nobody besides her and nobody above her, nobody has ever helped me as much as she has, and there is no way that I will ever be able to express my gratitude towards her. Like no one else, she has listened to me, helped me and just talked to me, making me feel better; she has even suggested music to me that has been life altering (Sigur Rós), and I don’t know what I have ever done to deserve it, that kind of treatment belongs with better people.

Yes I admit to it, I am an evil person. Nothing to put me in jail or even get fined, it’s not like I murder people, beat them up or steal from them, but I certainly would never call myself a good person, I have done evil things, thought evil things and not sacrificed myself (again… metaphorically) for the group etc.

Why do I do this? Well mostly I lost faith in mankind long ago, when you get disappointed enough times, you loose faith in your fellow man. Throughout my life, only a few number of people have not betrayed me i.e. disappointed me when I didn’t expect them to. Of course I don’t include people that I don’t know that well, since that would be way to easy. But the list of “good” people is as follows: Jacob, Ingrid and Karoline.

Please note that only 1 of these people go further back than 2 years (Jacob), Ingrid and Karoline I met in Norway in the summer of 2005. I am not trying to make an example saying that all Norwegians are great, you see Jacob isDanish; besides the 2 Norwegian girls are both scouts (met them at a scout camp), and by that I mean that sort away the worst bulk of people (me being a scout for 12 years and ongoing does not make me good).

Each of these 3 people has their own role in my life, and a special meaning for me. It is not something that I intend to write about, since it is very personal, and this is well an open blog for everyone to read (despite that nobody reads it).

And while some people would say “amazing, you have 3 close friends”, my reply is that I don’t live in the same country as any of these 3 people, and while they are almost always ready for some communication, they don’t change my philosophical view on the world, but they mean a lot to me.

But what about family, doesn’t family always want the best for you? Well my family doesn’t, neither my father nor my mother have my trust anymore, since their divorce everything went downhill (as well as the fact that I grew up). Yes they are both happily married today, but not only was I used as a messenger, I was also a tool in their fight for “resources” and me and my sister. Rather then what was in my sisters and my interest, it was about money and who got to have what children where and when, even now that it is more or less settled, with my sister and me in Spain, my parents still go at it occasionally.

Yes this is without a doubt my longest post so far, but it is only about a fraction of my beliefs, and even though I may have been talking in circles, that blame can be put on the IB (International Baccalaureate) since that is what we are supposed to do ;). No what I mean is that if I just wrote it out once, it would be hard to even get people to notice what I was trying to say, but this way it is much easier.”

I have been intending a post for very long… VERY long.

I have also changed to first person writing, because the third person was just a silly gimic, which I eventually got tired of.

But to begin with, I want to announce that I have two posts in the works right now. This one and my philosophical thesis; but it forked out and now it is a major work, which I will focus upon once my exams are done. But my exams lead me to the next point of the day. This is the last day before my exams begin, and I am terrified of them; they simply scare me so massively.

None the less, tomorrow is my English exam, and I will report back here if I survive it!

I have nothing else to say, because there is nothing to do, other than revise for my exams and hope to get it over with.

The halt ones life is brought to, can be quite immense. Don’t you think?

Jens thinks so at least, school is standing more still than ever, despite being close to the exams. He has trouble finding good movies that he hasn’t already seen. He knew they are out there, he just can’t find them; since he has seen all movies he is interested on the IMDB top 250 list.

His internet sucks as much as always, and since last time he hasn’t found any new AWESOME music, so he still recommends I’m From Barcelona.

Of good news, he has recieved a new laptop, and it is so pretty; and very light on battery…

Runs several hours, even with wireless on. The 3D graphics are even decent, and run HL2 flawlessly; making it the newest target of his love (it even has a built-in webcam, and 2 mics).

But since there are a lot of good SP HL2 mods, Jens would like to recommend Minerva and Rock 24; and of other games, Jens is all crazy about EVE: Online, a space MMO.

Other then that, there isn’t really anything new to report about the life of Jens.

See you another time…

P.s. Remember to read “About the author” (look at the top); or click here.
